I just went into Lidl today after I got a leaflet with their latest promos through the door.

Their marzipan is cheaper than the wholesaler I usually buy from!

250g marzipan 99p (I bought their entire stock of natural marzipan and they have loads of golden too)
500g fondant 99p (didn't buy so don't know the quality)
2 vanilla beans £1.49
Cute Christmas sprinkles 99p
They also had dried fruit that was really reasonable.

With prices for everything cake going through the roof, I thought I'd share! Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info!

My only concern is....is it actually nice fondant etc? I.e. good to work with and tasty? I only ask because I once bought some fondant which was cheaper than my usual and it was awful to work with and tasted revolting!

But if it's good stuff then well worth the trip into town icon_smile.gif

Thank you!
The marzipan is good. I wasn't brave enough to buy the fondant - I love the brand I use too much to risk it!

I'm the same- I use the Regalice you get at cake decorating stores and I actually like the taste so haven't tried anything else yet!
