How do I make buttercream icing "silver"? The bride wants the decor on the wedding cake with silver icing - using buttercream. How would I do that?

You could airbrush the buttercream with silver pearl.

If your doing accents, get the edible silver luster dust and mix a little with vodka, just a few drops so that its thick but can be painted on with a small brush.

I love using airbrush silver and gold, they are very metallic and shiny. I just brush it on. Duff's is available at Michael's or Americolor is also good if you have access to some. I would let the BC decorations crust before painting them. You don't want your brush too wet so you may have to do 2 coats letting them dry between applications. Check out the first cake in my photos called September wedding. The silver is on RI but BC will work if you are careful
