I have been making my flowers using fondant/gumpaste 50/50 mix. They are very brittle and break easy and some times do not dry hard enough. Is there a better way? Can I use gumpaste only? I need to make some more realistic looking flowers and want them to be stronger than the ones I have made in the past. Thanks in advice for your time and advise. icon_smile.gif

You can use gumpaste only. I was trained that way but have made changes to meet my own needs.

I will typically use a 50/50 mix for things such as polka dots or stripes on a cake. I find it sturdier than fondant only and give me more control to keep the shapes.
