I want to branch out to chocolate cookies now that I've gotten the NFSC down. I've found a ton of chocolate cookie recipes out there, and honestly, I'm not a big fan of having to try out a million different ones blindly in order to find the right one! I also know there are a bunch of posts on here where people have asked for chocolate cookie recipes, but I've never found one where other people responded with the one they really like. The only ones I find are posts that point someone to several recipes.

So what I'm really hoping for here is that you will share which cookie recipe YOU love. Please icon_smile.gif ? Help me narrow down the field. I'm a chocoholic and need a good chocolate cookie (that doesn't spread)!

Thanks in advance. I love my CC family!

Try these three recipes and figure out which one you like best. It's not like you can get all the people to agree on one recipe being the best. You do not have to try ten recipes but at least two or three to figure out which one you like and which one works for you.

1."brownie roll-out cookies" from "smitten kitchen"
It taste wonderful and it holds its shape.

2. Chocolate cookie recipe from "Cookie Craft" book.
The cookies hold their shape wonderful and taste great too.

NOTE: I have tried both of the above recipes with great succes many times. They are the only recipes I use for chocolate cutout cookies.

3.Lila Lola's "The End-All for Chocolate Cookies Recipe"
They tatse wonderful. I just had a little problem with a little spreading. I am sure I did something wrong because this recipe is one of the most talked and praised recipes among the famous cookie bloggers (sweetopia, sweetsugerbelle and etc.)

I hope you find one of these recipes good enough. icon_smile.gif

Thanks infinitsky! Lila Loa's was a blog I found this week, so her recipe was definitely one I wanted to know about.

I know not everybody agrees on a recipe. What I was just hoping to avoid was a repeat of the posts already out there that say try this, this, or this recipe on xx website without any sort of review of good or bad! Especially since there are plenty of recipes out there. This way will help me narrow it down a little bit, since honestly, it's not the baking and adjusting til I find the perfect recipe that I love. I'm really all about the decorating, and the eating of course!

I tried Lilaloa's chocolate cookie recipe and it is fantastic! I also tried coloring it black for some Halloween cookies and it worked great.
