Painting Gingerbread House?

I am going for a certain color and I was wondering if anyone has tried to 'paint' a gingerbread house with a watered down RI? I would like it to have a salmon colored stucco look. Any other ideas would be welcome!

If you're going for a stucco look royal icing would be the perfect medium. You shouldn't, however, paint it on with a brush. I would give it a very thin coat of thinned RI, then once that dries hard I'd sponge on a thicker RI to get that stucco look. You could do it like this too:
