I'll be honest, I've never had Boston cream pie. I have no clue if it is a pie pie or a cake that you call a pie (I just looked at some pictures online so I'm a little confused). Either way, I'm making a cake for a friend and she has requested Boston cream filling. Does anyone know of a good recipie? I'd appreciate any and all help.

Boston cream pie is yellow cake with a pastry cream filing topped with chocolate glaze.

So you could make a yellow cake, fill the layers with both vanilla pastry cream/pudding filling and chocolate fudge. Not sure how many cake layers you have but I would have two of the cream/pudding and one layer of chocolate.

A Boston Cream Pie is 2 layers of yellow (butter) cake filled with pastry cream and topped with a fairly thick layer of chocolate ganache or a chocolate fudge frosting. The sides remain un-iced. HTH!
