I've got a smallish request for some owl cake pops, and I hate to go to the expense of buying candy eyes. (They seem super expensive to me.) Has anyone ever used royal icing on cake pops? It seems like it would stick as well as any other candy, but just thought I would ask you guys in case there's anything finicky about it. Thanks!

I sometimes use it and it works beautifully especially for fine details. HTH

Yes, I use royal icing on cake pops/balls. Be sure to add some flavoring to your royal so it complements the cake pops. My go-to flavor is clear vanilla.

I'm using black royal icing on my daughter's Jack cake pops next week, for the mouth and nose, and then black fondant for his eyes icon_smile.gif
