I have a request to make this lion cake: http://www.laguna-bg.com/catalog/albums/userpics/10002/E18.jpg

but I have no idea how to carve this.. how many cakes and what size to use. It looks like it is covered with fondant but can someone please help me in figuring out how to make the body and the face?

I'm guessing the arms and legs are RKT? Thanks for the help!

I would start with 4 iced and stack 1/4 sheet cakes, freeze overnight and start carving in the morning. Looks fairly simple you want to use rkt for the arms, you'll have a little more flexibility when placing the arms. hth

I would just carve it, but you could try a ball pan if you didn't feel comfortable with that.
