I have a request for a cake for a husband and wife duel birthday celebration. They're in their 30s. Something relatively simple.
TIA

You can't go wrong with polka dots. Here's a cake that is simple but beautiful. The colors are equally masculine and feminine. You can do a flower on the side for her and do circles on wires in the colors and put both there names on the top and Happy birthday on the board.

Another possibility is to make 2 seperate cakes - using one layer each, put side-by-side.
Maybe these will spark an idea for you:

Kakeladi,

Thanks for the links of the cakes. I would not have thought of side by side! Interesting! Thanks so much!

Or you could do two sides of one cake, one side in her favorite colors and the other in his. See this thread about a double baby shower to see what I mean:

Here is one I did for a friend's joint husband and wife 30th birthday party. All the guest were to wear back and/or white and they wore red. It was kind of a vintage theme. Sorry for the bad pic, all I had was my phone at delivery icon_smile.gif

If they are gamers maybe a Scrabble game with their names intersecting (or if thats not possible Happy Birthday across the middle with their names intersecting it) You could spell out words like Thirty, Party, Good Times, etc.
