This is the cake... I am no sure which way to go with it. In the picture the fondant is cut in strips then applied to the cake not to crazy about doing it that way Is it better to fondant the cake with white the do the pink stripes on the top? it will be a 2 tier round cake.
Well I can't see any cake for reference but I think I know what your talking about just by your questions.
Yes I would cover the cake with fondant then put the strips down. That way you don't have frosting squishing inbetween them and you could even cut off a little of the pink fondant so it fits nicely together with out making a mess.
