I am making light purple gum paste butterflies. I let them sit overnight and now they are light blue. I used the Americolor Regal purple but very little of it to achieve that light purple. Why is this happening and what can do to prevent it happening again. I have to remake the butterflies for Saturday. My customer specifically requested light purple not dark.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

It is a very common problem with purple. Once you make them, they need to stay in the dark. Light makes it turn quicker. Violet make work better than regal purple and keep it's color longer.
