My nephew's turning 7 & is having a soccer party. I was so excited to finally have a reason to make a sculpted soccer cleat cake! Well, now he wants a cake with animals playing soccer?! To top it off, my parents are driving the cake to him 10 hours away so I'm limited on supports. Finally, sitting animals I've done but standing? Kicking? Help!

Hi,
So you really need armatures inside these animals don't you?
Have you ever made gumpaste or modelling choc figures with a wire structure inside?

Your need some strong but paliable wire, rice krispie treats to bulk them out a bit and the modelling choc or gumpaste. If the figures are going to be eaten (yeah sounds silly but some figures are made not to be eaten) then modelling choc or half fondant and half gumpaste, because just gumpaste figures set like a brick! and really can't be eaten.

I was trying to find some pics of people making figures with wire inside, but I couldn't find any, I did find a cake boss video where they make people for a sweet sixteen cake,
part 1

Hope this helps! Good luck! icon_smile.gif
