I am currently using cake mixes and want to make my own bulk mix recipe. I am looking for a bulk homemade cake mix recipe with shortening for easy storage. Anyone?
Without the type/grind of flour, the type of leaveners, emulsifiers, gelling agents etc in commercial cake mix, you won't be able to produce a "cake mix" cake.
Homemade cake mixes will be scratch cakes not "cake mix" cake.
There are oodles of recipes for homemade cake mixes on the Internet. The different proportions between the ingredients will produce various cakes.
It would be unwise to go straight into bulk cake mix production until you know what kind of cake the mix produces .. Making the mix only to find that you do not like the texture or look of the resultant cake could be an expensive exercise.
A bit/lot of research is going to be necessary until you find one that you like ..
