Burgundy Colored Cake???? Help!

I have a friend that wants a Redskin cake but she want the cake to be burgundy with a lemon filling. Good idea if I knew how to get a burgundy colored cake.

PLEASE HELP

Okay I'm confused, does she want the cake proper to be burgundy or does she want the outside (buttercream or fondant) to be burgundy?

Try a red velvet cake and change the food color to burgandy (Americolor & Wilton both have a burgandy). You can probably even use a red and mix in some black.

Yes, she wants the actual cake to be burgundy not the outside. And she wants a vanilla cake.

Oh okay. I got it now. I agree, try a red velvet cake and add burgundy color to it.

You can use the burgandy food coloring in the vanilla cake.
