I recently ordered hi ratio shortening and it was shipped to me this week. I opened it and it looked kind of lumpy. Its still pretty hot in Texas and I was wondering if it could spoil during shipping and heat? Thanks in advance for any help!

I think lumpy is okay. If it's yellowish and has a faint odor it might be bad. I know a lot of places won't ship during very hot weather.

Thanks for your help. I went ahead and threw about the tub in question. The other 2 I ordered looked just fine. As my husband says, when in doubt through it out.

You should contact the seller - they should make good on their product and send you a new tub.

I think you are right, I'll give them a call tomorrow.
