Hello, I am new here and just getting in to scratch baking. I am attempting the WOW cake that won second place in the scratch bake off . I was hoping that anyone who has made this cake before and if you learned a trick or added or subtracted anything would share their information with me.

The only thing I do different from the recipe is to split open two vanilla beans, scrape out the insides, and add that to the batter. Simply to die for - both in eating the batter and the finished cake. I frost this cake with SMBC, also with vanilla bean in the frosting. It's the best white cake ever.
