How in the heck do you get RI in those tiny coffee stir sticks! I have a cake with a bunch if stars on wires coming up and I'm dreading trying this again!
Thanks!

Pipe it in with a teeny round tip?

Why are you wanting to pipe RI in the straw?

You just slide the straw in the cake and then slide the wire into the straw, no need to RI.

I supposed if you really wanted to though, you could put the straw in the RI and suck it up through it, then cut the tip that touched your mouth. LoL...

The RI helps the wire from moving all over the place.

maybe try coating the wire witj RI before sticking it in the straw. You can also try wrapping the wire with floral tape so it fits more snug.

You can also put a kink in the wire to keep it from spinning inside the coffee stirrer.

I use Wilton icing in a tube and I put a decorating tip with a really small hole (not sure what size, don't have it here). Then stick the tip into the straw and squeeze until the icing is almost at the top. Then stick your wire in. The Wilton icing dries very fast and is hard enough to hold the wire in place within a few minutes.

I've not tried it with RI, but with fondant I just jab the straw repeatedly into a ball of fondant till it comes out the other end. I've never really had any difficulty with doing it this way.
