I'm doing a "Cornhole" cake next weekend, and they have requested red velvet. Honestly, I'm not a huge red velvet fan so I don't make it a lot. Any suggestions on a recipe that is sturdy to stack and to carve? Also, any recomendations on a sturdy filling? I'm going to ice it with buttercream, and not fondant. The last time I made RV was under fondant and my dams busted and I had a bulge. icon_sad.gif

Thanks in advance for your help! Much appreciated icon_smile.gif

The receipe here on CC for daughter-in-law's revenge red velvet cake is delicious. Not sure how it would be for carving but if all you are doing is carving a hole how about baking in a tube pan and then you wouldn't have to carve.
