I posted about making a cake for a reunion about a year ago and this weekend was the reunion. This is the cake I was able to do. I didn't have time to do everything the way I wanted to because I have been working 12 to 14 hours a day for the past 3 months but everyone really loved the cake.

I actually put it together on Thursday evening but wasn't happy with how it looked and I was afraid it wouldn't stand up to the 3 1/2 hour drive that it was going to be to get to the reunion so after I got off work on Friday night (after working 13 1/2 hours) I took the cake apart and started over. I finished it at 2:00 a.m. and was up at 7:00 am to get ready to leave for Illinois. I am totally happy with how it traveled (propped on the car seat). Not a shift or anything. I took extra icing just in case but didn't even need to get it out of the car.

The towers are rice crispy treats covered in white chocolate ganache.
