My brothers birthday is coming up and he's not a big cake fan but loves ice cream cakes, go figure. So I think I kind of know what to do but any tips, tricks or information on making one would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of icing it in whipped icing, is this what you normally use? I always do an oreo crust like you would for a cheesecake...I like two different flavors layered...soften ice cream a bit at room temperature so you can spread it easily on top of crust...then I add layer of hot fudge sauce with more crushed crumbs on top and another layer of softened ice cream...you can frost with Rich's Bettercream which is a whipped topping that comes in vanilla or chocolate. You can add any flavoring to the topping, as well...hope this helps.
I always do the whole thing in ice cream...using a ring mold. I do add a cookie and fudge center. The better cream is perfect just make sure you freeze it really good first.
