I've had a request for a cake with a semi-auto handgun on it. The gun style they want is a 9mm, so the revolver molds I've found won't work. Does anyone know where I could find a mold for a semi-auto handgun? Preferably one close to life size? Some bullets would be fun to add as well...

Thanks for all your help! icon_biggrin.gif

I don't know where to buy one but you could make your own. I know they make wooden guns for training purposes that are properly sized, you could use one of those to make the mold.

Leah_s - That one just might be perfect. Thank you for the link!

bakerliz - I'll have to check into the training guns as well.

Thank you both for your help!

I made a cake with a gun on it before. Instead of using a mold, we traced a silhouette of a gun on foamcore, cut three thicknesses of foamcore and glued them together, covered with fondant and then just modeled the details.

If you were going to make a mold with a training gun, the airsoft guns they sell at walmart or the sporting goods stores would work too...some of those run about $10 and they have a lot of details.
