If you have ever made IMB using powdered meringue, did you find that there was a slight sour kind of taste. I'm thinking it comes from the powdered meringue? Has anyone else experienced this??

Meringue Powder is a mixture of chemicals. Depending upon the brand that you purchase, it could include Sodium aluminum sulfate, citric acid, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Alum, etc.

Read the packet and see what is included. You may have to try another brand ..

...so if I am right about the sour taste, does ANYONE have a good recipe using a powdered meringue that does not have that sour taste? I would love to know.
