I can't believe it. Iv just kneaded and wrapped and started cleaning up, when I saw the unopened tub of gum tragacanth powder on the side.... can I save it? Kneading some in? Or have I essentially now made fondant so if I do knead some gum trag in it won't set as hard?

I would try kneading it in now.

I have kneaded Tylose powder and Wilton's GumTex into fondant so I don't see why one could not add the gum trag. You might have to do some extra kneading to be sure it gets spread around well.

Sure. Knead it in now, re-wrap, and allow to cure overnight--24hrs. if you have it when using gum trag--and you should be fine.
