Can I ask some advice from those with much more experience than me. I normally make and sell large cakes but have been asked to make 18 red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for someone and I have never sold cupcakes before (made loads lol) and I'm not really sure what to charge. Can I ask what you would charge for these
I would charge your ingredient cost + labor cost + per-order overhead + a 20-30% profit margin.
In our experience cupcakes tend to be less labor-intensive than cakes, so we charge $30/dozen and up. (This includes the cost of renting a commercial kitchen, since here in CA it is illegal to sell homemade food.)
