HI,

I was wondering what the best way to do the side panels for this cake would be. Would all fondant (satin ice) work or do I need to add gumpaste? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

What are you planning to attach the side panels to? If you want them to stand up on their own at all, I'd definitely add tylose or gumpaste and let them dry awhile. If you're more wanting to just cover the square cake with fondant, it'd be fine. Maybe with a picture it'd be easier to give a clear-cut answer.
