Is it just me or is it completely irritating on cupcake wars when all the young girls call frosting "frosteeeng"? Lol ! Anyway, if anyone can help, I was wondering, do you think most people on cupcake wars use a powdered sugar based buttercream or a meringue type? Florian always says the crossings are too sweet. Also, when they add things like fruit, how do you think they prevent the fruit from sinking and keep it from altering how it bakes? Thanks for any advice
Well the word for icing can be used by many in different ways..I don't say frosting but rather Icing as that is what I know it to be .Maybe that is how they were raised to say it from Grandma...LOL..As for recipes..there are thousands and it is whatever they like etc..Florian is Parisian french and they are typically know for their pastries..and most are not sweet so that is probably just his palette.I myself don't like most BC recipes as I find them gritty and sweet also..
