NEED SOME GUIDANCE ON HOW & WHAT TO USE TO MAKE A MOVIE REEL FOR A MOVIE THEMED CAKE. I WAS THINKING USING GUMPASTE AND USING FONDANT FOR THE FILM.

ALSO SHOULD I USE FONDANT OR MODELING CHOCOLATE TO MAKE POPCORN?

When I made a movie reel cake I used a single layer cake (whatever size you want) and two cake boards that were 2 inches bigger that the cake. I covered the two cake boards with gray fondant then used black fondant for the "decorations on outer sides of the reels". I sandwiched the cake in between the two cake boards and covered the edge of the cake with black fondant and then used white fondant to make the squares for the film.
As far as the popcorn goes I would think either fondant or modeling chocolate would work. I used real popcorn with my movie cake.

For popcorn, take mini marshmallows and cut them twice on the top. Then color the inside with a little bit of yellow and maybe some brown. I did popcorn cupcakes like this, they're in my photos. Pain to cut each one, but I think they turned out cute icon_smile.gif
