Hi,

I am planning to make a Hawaiin Luaua cake for my friend's birthday. I would like to know how I can make the hawaiin girl standing without it sinking into the cake. I had made a belly dancer girl and it was sinking into the cake. I was plannin to make a red velvet cake.
I would als like to know how to make the palm trees, hibiscus flowers and beach.
Thanks.

I'm not real sure how you can make the girl stand and not sink into your cake. Have her stand on a gumpaste disk supported with a dowel underneath. That could help her stay up.

You tube can show you how to make flowers of all kinds. I'm not sure if you have any petal cutters but there are videos that will show you how to make a flower with or without a cutter.

This link will show you how to make the trunk of a palm tree.

I would just sprinkle brown sugar on the board to use as sand. It works well in Hawaiian pictures I've seen.
I hope I've been some help! I'm still new to all this, too!
