How do you all get your buttercream frosting to get so smooth on your cakes? I use the paper towel trick but even then its hard sometimes. Is it making it creamier? I need help with this please.

I used the paper towel trick to get our buttercream smooth. I also just used the regular Wilton buttercream icing recipe and it seemed to work just fine.

I would recommend Sugarshack's videos - they really helped me. But in the meantime, part of the trick is to heat your spatula in a pot of hot water. Keep it simmmering and wipe the water off with a towel, smooth icing, then wipe the icing off with paper towel after each application. Then back in the pot it goes- repeat. Good luck.[/i]
