I'm new to my company and I found out that my boss' birthday is in two days. I had opened my big mouth a few weeks ago and said I decorate cakes as a hobby. Now I've been assigned to bring in a cake for the surprise party. I really need an awesome idea for a cake that I can make fairly easily. I want it to be REALLY impressive but something I can get done quickly and be able to transport to work. Help!!

What type of work is it? office work?

Or it wouldn't have to be a fondant cake it could be something like a chocolate overload cake, with chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream and decorated with loads of different chocolates on the top!

or a white buttercream cake covered in big strawberrys, drizzled with chocolate.

How about a gift box with a tag attached that says Happy Birthday? Depending on the colors you use and the type of bows you make, it can take on any level of elaborate/simple you like. I do think you might want to not go all out because you may be doing free birthday cakes for everyone in the office!

Don't know if your boss is a guy or a girl but covering it in BC ribbon or BC roses (http://d30opm7hsgivgh.cloudfront.net/upload/36145763_imneGPp0_b.jpg) would be somewhat fast and easy but have a nice impact! Something like this may work, especially if your boss is a she:
