I like using Fondarific, and I have just found out that my "local" retailer (Golda's Kitchen in Mississauga, which is still a two-hour drive from my home) is no longer carrying it. I can get it on-line via many US sites, but the shipping costs are usually very high. Because the Canadian and US dollars are relatively the same, there's not a big currency conversion difference.
I have used Satin Ice very successfully. I lost an entire tub of Chocopan when I laid it on a cake, and it stretched, pulled, ripped. It was a mess and couldn't be salvaged! I have also used FondX but wasn't super impressed by it, particularly the colours. I have tried Duff's, which I know is the same as Fondarific, but it is expensive (without the coupon) and doesn't come in as many colours and flavours.
I like how Fondarific holds up while kneading, covering, and smoothing. I also like the taste. Not sure where I can get it in Ontario (GTA area) now that Golda's isn't carrying it ... thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi Tracy1970, we / Flour Confections just started carrying Fondarific. I don't think I'm allowed to post a link to it without getting in trouble... So you can follow the link in my signature to our site and sort or search by Fondarific.
Good luck... I hope you find what you need.
I am so sorry - I saw this sooo late, and most definitely you have already found out where to find it from...still wanted to write in case! So Icing inspirations in Kitchner has fondx n fondarific both and you can order-just place an order online or by phone and pick it up yourself!
