Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering for future reference, what is the expected rate for cupcakes in the UK, per cupcake, or per dozen, what do you think is a good price and overpriced? Any help or thoughts are great, thanks icon_smile.gif

Depends where you are, £2 or £24 a dozen here. More for sugarpaste topped ones etc.

I've so far only figured out what I'll be charging for one of my recipes, and I've worked it out at £1.50 each (which is kind of in line with the other local sellers). One lady only charges £1 however I think hers are very basic recipes, whereas mine uses stout whicg is pricey stuff!

Where are you based out of interest?

Maybe not, but they might throw a tantrum if you run out of their favourite flavours icon_smile.gif

Pinkjacs,
Yeah, they got loads of publicity, but appear to have removed the cupcake in question from their menu! icon_confused.gif
Surely you would leave the cupcake on the menu, because you'd have people wanting to try it, to see what the fuss was about!
It sounded like one hell of a sugar rush though! It was a cupcake, with buttercream piled on as heigh as the cupcake itself and on top of that it was smothered in candy floss!!!
