I was just wondering for future reference, what is the expected rate for cupcakes in the UK, per cupcake, or per dozen, what do you think is a good price and overpriced? Any help or thoughts are great, thanks
hi I am in scotland. I charge £15 for a dozen but charge for extras should they need them but most are happy with 15.
Thankyou for the help, by the way I love your signature!
thanks stole it off the web somewhere!!
Depends where you are, £2 or £24 a dozen here. More for sugarpaste topped ones etc.
Thanks for the info Noobz!
I've so far only figured out what I'll be charging for one of my recipes, and I've worked it out at £1.50 each (which is kind of in line with the other local sellers). One lady only charges £1 however I think hers are very basic recipes, whereas mine uses stout whicg is pricey stuff!
Where are you based out of interest?
The South Wales valleys, do you think people will pay a lot there?
Maybe not, but they might throw a tantrum if you run out of their favourite flavours
Ha ha! I read that article about the tantrum throwing cardiff woman! Be careful JamAndButtercream- she may be on the prowl!!
did someone have a tantrum over a cupcake?? so its not only my 5 year old that does that!!
Haha! Believe me if she did that in my shop, she wouldn't be walking back out!
@Pinkjacs read this that I posted the other week!
This woman was about 40 and a mother to two children!
oh dear lol but think of the publicity the shop must have got!!!
Yeah, they got loads of publicity, but appear to have removed the cupcake in question from their menu!
Surely you would leave the cupcake on the menu, because you'd have people wanting to try it, to see what the fuss was about!
It sounded like one hell of a sugar rush though! It was a cupcake, with buttercream piled on as heigh as the cupcake itself and on top of that it was smothered in candy floss!!!
Oh I think that would be too much for me lol would have the shakes if I ate one lol
Weird they have taken it off!!! them may do a BACK BY POPULAR demand lol or perhaps they are not brave enough to sell them now!!
