For those of you who are in Canada, could you help me please with some information about opening a cake business here, especially in Quebec. What authorizations are necessary, and what are the steps to be followed. Are there any websites with the law and regulations on this matter? Where I leave is a small community and there is no bakery around, so I think it could have some success. Thank you for any information you can give me.

You will need to contact the Board of Health for your county in your area of Quebec. Each Board of Health has rules for its area and requirements. Find out what they are ( get it in writing) . You would have to be inspected I think. If you do this the next step is to talk to an insurance agent for coverage. In this day and age of let's sue that is a must.... probably need a business license as well . ( The province and Feds will want their share.)
That's why I work at a bakery.... I have pets and I don't have a separate kitchen as would be required in my area.
