making a beach bag cake, would like to have a beach towel coming out of it. can anyone give me suggestions on how to make a fondant towel that has some texture to it to look like a real towel? would like to make it striped, how should i do that so it isn't too bulky? thanks

roll out ur base color for the towel about 3/4 of the way. add stripes to the top of the fondant, then roll it out the rest of the way. it embeds the stripes and you can roll it as thin as you need. as for the texture. can u use the towel like an impression mat and just press the towel ontop of the fondant to get some texture?? thats my idea, but maybe somebody else has something more helpful

for texture you could also try a nylon pot scrubber

I just made one last week - the beach bag and flip flop were covered in fondant, but I covered the towel in buttercream using the grass tip. It looked like terrycloth.
