If someone wants you to use real ribbon around the bottom of a cake, What kind do you use?? I have heard that some ribbon can get grease marks it from the icing. What kind do you use and how soon can you put it on with out anything bleeding on the ribbon? Any othe tips on using real ribbon is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I find that inexpensive floral satin works best. It has a lot of body and does not wrinkle or droop. I will put it on a fondant covered cake as soon as the fondant has had a chance to set a bit - usually the day after covering the cake. I use just a bit of non toxic glue to stick it together.
