I made buttercream icing, and am wanting to turn half of it into chocolate buttercream. Can I just add the cocoa powder now as a "final step" rather than adding it to the beginning as I usually would?

I like adding dark chocolate cocoa powder and 1 melted square of unsweetened chocolate. You'll have to add a bit more milk to keep the same consistancy. HTH's =)

I add just cocoa powder to my bc to make chocolate bc. Just add a little at a time to get the strength of chocolate flavoring that you want. Also, you may need to add a little bit of milk, too, since the powder will alter the consistency.
