Can anyone tell me where to buy the cutters for the letters on this cake? They're obviously much larger than the Tappits, and I've not seen them anywhere. I looked online, but am none the wiser.

I asked the baker, but haven't heard from her yet and need to order urgently, if possible!

Thanks, all.

I'd love to know about the cutter for the letters on this cake as they are a nice size and shape. I checked the link bob gave for the clickstix but the fonts don't match up. Hopefully someone else recognizes them??? TIA!

She may have used a cricut for the lettering.

I know exactly the ones you mean. They are not cut with a Cricut. They are a set I have... they are actually plastic cookie cutters, the letters are about 1inch, and the only place I could find them was a supplier in Malaysia. I hunted around for them for AGES without success, then (after I'd given up) I stumbled across them by accident when looking for something else entirely. I can't remember the name of the company offhand, but I'll see if I can find it in my old emails...hopefully it's in there somewhere for you!

This is a pic of them that I found somewhere online: Image

Uhh.. yeah, I have problems with cutting letters. I won't be getting a cricut either, due to the fact I don't do this very often. But I have 2 sets of letter cutters where one is plastic like you are describing and one is small medal ones. Those I have HUGE problems using. I can never get the letters cut right due to them not "popping" out cleanly.

Soooo frustrating. While I havent used the big ones yet, they seem like they'll be a lot easier to work with. But I still haven't been able to get my smaller set of letters to ever work and look clean.

I think I got them from Micheals in the cake section, both letter cutters actually. The biggers ones was in a plastic container that also had other stuff you can cut, like santa's and stars and stuff.

Coral3 they are exactly the right ones! If you could find your supplier that would be amazing, or even the supplier in Malaysia, as I have a friend there would would send them to me! Thank you!

Don't think they will allow me to post the actual url link but if you go into eBay and do a search for "alphabet birthday cookie cutter" there are a few Malaysian sellers selling these and posting internationally. The cheapest listed is from a seller called "sticker4_kids". HTH.

Hi - I just bought the funky tappit letters and tried to use them this weekend. They were a NIGHTMARE! Does anyone know if there's a trick to getting them to pop out? I was so excited to use these for a graduation cake but was horribly disappointed with the results.

i roll my tylosed fondant out thin and in a strip leave it to dry out a bit-at least 20 min, before i cut them out. that is the main key. cut against a flat cornstarched hard surface and not a silicone mat. then i just smack the cutter against the table or over my mat and out they fly! hth

@Stella_Groovin:

I don't use tylosed fondant, but I do everything else that cas17 says. I also brush cornstarch into the Tappits using a half inch brush getting in all the little nooks and crannies. When I bang the cutter on the counter, if only half the letter comes out, I push it back in and try again. This stops half the letter becoming misshapen as you continue to bang for the other half! If necessary, use a pin to try out the stubborn part of the letter but always push it back in to reform before banging again.

I also always do my letters in advance and let them dry before I apply them to the cake. This way you can reshape them before they dry and they won't go on your cake all misshapen. I've seen so many cakes with wonky Funky letters! Good luck!
