Hi everyone,

Im making a witches hat cake for a friend in a few days and wondered if anyone has any advice on the best structure to hold it up. At the minutes my idea is 2 6" round cakes stuck together with buttercream, sculptured into shape with ice cream cone on top. Covered again with buttercream (or Jam) and stick on the fondant.

My worry is that the fondant with bring the whole thing down with its weight. I was going to put a dowel though the middle to help.

Am i on the right track? Suggestions all apprieciated!!

Thanks icon_smile.gif

Dowel the bottom cake and put a board in between the cakes. I would use rice krispie treats for the point because it will be solid and therefore more stable than a hollow wafer ice cream cone. icon_smile.gif
