Hi, I really love the Wilton shaped pans but I know most of them are designed with using buttercream decoration to cover them. Have any of you used fondant to cover the cakes from the shaped tins and if so how do you go about creating the detail that is normally done with piped buttercream please as some have a lot of detail and I'm wondering if it's a real pain trying to cut out fondant to place over the detail areas and getting the shapes right?

Thanks for any advice/help

I'm wondering if you can use the cake tin to kind of mould your fondant pieces on, and then cut them out?
