Hi there! I just measured my bottom tier and it is pretty close to 4.5" inches tall and the only SPS legs that I have are the ones that are 4". Is it safe to use these legs or should I move to "Plan B" (bubble tea straws)? Any advice is much appreciated!! icon_smile.gif

I would not use 4in legs if your cake is 4.5in tall, if you have the 9in ones or the 5in multi piece ones i would use those and cut them down to 4.5. if you don't have those then go with the bubble straws if you are comfortable with that

That is one of the main reasons I do not like or use SPS. I use bubble tea straws for all my cakes, you will be fine.

That's why I prefer Stress Free cake supports. I tried the SPS system last month and had to trim one of my layers down so the cake wouldn't be to tall to use the system. I wouldn't use the 4 inch legs if your cake is 4 1/2 because it will be resting on your bottom tier. I would go with dowels or straws.
