I'm making cupcakes for a friend's bridal shower, which will be held on a vineyard. In addition to wine-themed chocolate and fondant decorations, I want to come up with some wine- or alcohol-infused flavors for the batters, fillings, and/or frostings. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
Red wine pairs well with chocolate. So how about a bit of red wine in your chocolate batter and then making a buttercream with the same wine. I don't have a recipe but I have been meaning to try something like this soon.
Also champagne makes for tasty cupcakes. I have in the past made a white cake which I drizzled in a champagne strawberry syrup and then topped with a strawberry buttercream.
