I have a cake for Friday that is red velvet and is supposed to be covered in Fondant...my question is..I always use a cream cheese frosting ( will post the recipe) but wanted to know how that will hold up under Fondant and as a filling??

the recipe is
1 6 oz box of cream cheese
2tsp vanilla
1/2 cup butter
4 cups of powder sugar..
beat the cream cheese, vanilla and butter and then slowly add powder sugar...

is this fine to cover and fill the cake or does anyone have any recipe that's good light and fluffy???; thanks!!!

This is what I use too. If its hot out, I have done half crisco and half butter...not for the filling but for under the fondant.
