I am doing a 2-tier cake for my parents' birthday. Would it look right to do both 4" layers in the basketweave and then put flowers on the side with the green stems connecting the flowers or are the stems hard to do on top of the basketweave. I love to bake and decorate cakes, but I am not very confident with my own ideas. I am using 3 lilies (burgundy and white) on the top of the cake, and then coordinating colored daffolies on the sides.
