I would print off the first picture and bring it to the hardware store, and they can help you find all the pieces you need. the white tube looks like abs pipe, as for the little metal thing on the bottom i have no idea, good luck

That's a good idea! I'd never thought of that thanks I'll take it with me! How much help they'll be I have no idea but its worth a try!

It looks like a flange on the board with pvc off of that. It would be sturdy! I really like the base of it. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing the link.

It is lovely isn't it. The base and the cake I just love everything about it! I guess I really need to learn about this DIY stuff!
