I feel strange sending out a cake not packaged. What do you guys use to put tiered cakes in for customers when they pick their cakes up? Any suggestions or websites?

I deliver all cakes over 3 tiers but even those I box in large packing boxes.

I assemble the box, tape the bottom with heavy duty packing tape, razor blade down one side, slide the cake in (which I place on a piece of foam carpet runner stuff so it doesn't slide around), fold the side of the box back up and tape well with packing tape.

I also close up the top so the cake is completely protected. I try to purchase a box that is the same size as the cake board so that it fit's perfectly with no room for movement.

Tall tiered cakes can be pretty heavy so be sure the client knows this and can actually lift the cake without tipping it.
