I'm wanting to make a german chocolate cake and cover it with fondant. It is for my husband who doesn't want filling. Any ideas on how to do this?

Not sure exactly what you are looking for...... but you can make your favorite German Chocolate cake batter, and the coconut-pecan filling mix (prepared beforehand and cooled); then add about a cup of the filling mix into your cake batter and bake....... works beautifully. I top mine off with a Chocolate buttercream, and you can cover in fondant if you want to.. hth

I'd use a dam of stiff chocolate buttercream and the coconut pecan frosting between the layers and then chocolate buttercream or a chocolate ganache on the outside under the fondant.

Thanks for the ideas. I wasn't sure how I would get the fondant smooth with the coconut/pecans in the frosting.
