I'm looking for some advice. My friend has asked me to make a 1st anniversary cake for her at the end of July. They are having an outdoor BBQ and she has requested either a fireworks or a red roses tier cake. I was thinking I would maybe try and encorporate both on the cake. Having never done a fireworks cake I am looking for some ideas.

I was thinking of making the cakes either Midnight Blue or black (fondant covered and airbrushed to achieve the dark color) I thought that perhaps the fireworks might stand out more on a dark cake. Then placing s small bouquet of red roses on the top tier and putting a couple of sparklers in it.

I'm not sure how to make the firework bursts. Melted chocolate?

Thanks in advance!
