I am trying to find any information about frosting the pull apart cupcake cakes. you know the ones that are a bunch of cupcakes but all pushed together and frosted to look like it is just a cake. I thought someone had said there is a thread or video showing the basics on how to do it but I cannot find anything. Any tips or help is appreciated. TIA

If you look in my pictures the Halloween cake and the Santa Claus cake are both cupcake cakes. Both started off the same way before their pictures were done. You have to position your cupcakes to minimize the gaps between them. Once you've got them in the shape you want, then you have to ice them quite thickly, to make sure that a) the all have icing, and b) to make sure you have a flat surface. Once you've got the flat surface then you can carry on with your decorating. Don't forget to "glue" each cupcake down onto your board. I use a tiny bit of buttercream, others you double sided tape or something else.

Here's a tutorial.

I've never actually done it myself, so I don't know how good this is.
