If I buy the Silhouette cutter do I need to purchase any other software? I want to cut designs I make on my computer on gumpaste and icing sheets using Photoshop Elements. Is the Silhouette recommended?

The Silhouette is your best bet for cake decorating. If you don't have one yet. be sure to get it from Linda McClure. If you already have a Silhouette, all you need is the cake package that includes the blade holder for cutting icing sheets and gum paste.

You can use the software that comes with your Silhouette for your designs. I like Make the Cut, it is an easy program to use and all the up-dates are free. The Silhouette is now a native plotter in MTC.

They have upgraded the software that comes with the Silhouette, it is called Silhouette Studio and I think it is very good, mostly user friendly and lots of fun. I do not use any other software since studio has been introduced.
