Hello! I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it. When I bake a cake, say in an 8 inch round, and then stack the layers, the aren't flush with each other. It seems some of the layers are just slightly wider than others. I end up having to cut around some of the edges. Any one have this issues or know why it is happening?

Your cake pan/s aren't straight sided, they are tapered from top to bottom.

The result is that the layers don't line up when stacked, but can be trimmed to be straight sided. icon_sad.gif

Quick fix, use Michael's or Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons to purchase some straight sided pans. icon_smile.gif

Tip: straight sided pans will NOT nest/fit into one another for storage as do tapered pans.
